This is a view of the GC from Moran Point during monsoon season. I am anxious for the monsoons to return in July. The storms provide dramatic lighting. They also unfortunately cause violent electrical displays of which I am terrified! Thanks for looking!

Hey Steve,

A very nice shot here. I like the look of the light in this, great cloud detail too.

I need to get back and shoot during monsoon season again too. The last time I did, 2 or 3 years ago the electricity was so bad my hand tingled every time I touched my tripod. I had my camera set up for a cool composition, but the lightning was striking so close on the next ridge that I chickened out and grabbed my camera and heading away from the ridge like everyone else... But next time I will be more prepared, I have a Lightning Trigger now, so I can just set the camera out and I can go back towards safety instead of standing next to my lightning rod... Course, I think I will stick my D600 spare on the tripod instead of my D800 just in case the static electricity gets too bad again... I would rather fry that one then my D800...

Yikes! Static tingling is not a common or acceptable situation! If you can feel or sense ANY level of charge, you should flee immediately. Doing so most certainly does not constitute 'chickening out.'

Steve, like the view and level of details. I usually go to GC around 4th of July, so may be will do it again this year. Still, nice storms are not guaranteed

I have never been to USA but how I suppose I discovered similar landscape in Mustang Kingdom (ancient Lo). I will add more pictures from this place in future.
