Both are really enjoyable and well converted to B&W, but the first one seems more powerful. The rays of light balance so well with the texture in the water that it's a pity to reduce their presence by adding more to the scene.

Wow...I really like the tighter view in #1. It accentuates the streaming light better. The hint of a cliff face in the background is very nice too

Both are really great images.
I like the warmer tones and simpler composition on the first. The BW conversion creates a peaceful but yet energetic mood.

#1 is my favorite, nice work on that. I like the tone of it, but more than that I like the clean edges to your composition. #2 shows a bit of the sky in the upper left, it also has a few rocks partly cut off on the bottom. You avoided all that in #1 so I think it flows and balances much nicer than #2.

Both are great images, love the conversion and the dynamics of the water.

I guess I slightly prefer the wider view in the second.

Just got a chance to log back in, and I appreciate all of your comments! I've been a little stuck on which perspective I like better, and I think I favor #1. More attention to the tree, cleaner edges, etc.

The shower bit was really a challenge. I shot these with the Lee Big Stopper and I'd have to compose really quickly and shoot, quickly grabbing the camera off the tripod to check the exposure/comp. Fortunately, at f/8 the little bit of spray that ended up covering the filter didn't really show up.

Stunning Images. Like em both! Most people focus on the grand landscapes of Yosemite Valley but there are just TONS of amazing opportunities with tighter crops of all the details in the areas beyond. This is one good example.
