Redshanks are smaller and less common than Godwits around here.
I shot these images from my car and they are (not heavily) cropped.
Thanks for looking. Comments are always welcome.

Time for a new avatar Thanks Chris, one more thing for me to learn!
I do like the bird against the nice rich, green background, they have a soothing feel to them. I almost hate to say this but my eye keeps going to the yellow flower, I'm not I'm an advocate of removing it. To be honest I'm not sure what I would do if it was mine. I do like the aspect ratio of the crops and the room around the bird, the subject is nicely focused and appears to be quite relaxed. The purist in my doesn't like the barbed wire but..... that's where he was I think you did a marvelous job on these Chris, well done!
Sitting on a dadgummed fence post with barbed wire... and I STILL really love these, Chris .
For some reason, the first image gave me the giggles and a smile. I stopped giggling but smiled to the end.
Excellent set.

Great series of this very cool species...A crowd will go to see this if one shows up in North America. Rally like the Green BG which makes the bird pops....And I don't mind the barbed wire, which goes along with the fence post....naturally.
