Pocketable? No, the lens sticks out quite a bit. It fits easily in any small bag though, I will most likely get a small bag and clip it to my belt along with my GPS.

Workflow. SPP worked fine for me. It's slow, it takes a while to process the full resolution image, but it's really a non issue for me. All I ever do is adjust basic parameters in raw and then bring my images into Photoshop anyway. I usually am not processing hundreds of images, if I was it could be a bit of a pain.

Low light images.

very impressive... I wish they will bring a mirrorless with that sensor.

I'm sure they have thought of it, but it appears they aren't very good at making camera bodies. They can make good sensrs and lenses, but the bodies and software needs a lot of work. They could do it it they spent the money. For the software, they should just adapt an Android stack and let the apps community write all the software for them. If they had the desire, they could easily build a team in Silicon Valley to help them. There is quite a bit of enthusiasm for foveon here.

I thought this was a mirrorless camera, or are you meaning a small camera with interchangeable lenses? I would buy one.

Yes, a CSC with a full line of ART lenses would be very nice. Still, they really need help on the software side. I'm talking about software in the camera and the raw processing. I know they are now working with Adobe, but why did it take so long? If they just create a lab in SV to adopt an Android stack and help with industrial design, I have a feeling these foveon cameras would take off. They seem to not show any efforts on improving their software and cameras.

Mmmm, I don't think the cameras themselves are so bad. Frankly, the camera is so simple to operate, it doesn't even really need an instruction manual. The biggest source of confusion is probably "why does it take me 7 seconds to review the picture I just took?" This is speculation, but I am willing to bet that Sigma probably was surprised at how many people bought the 19mm and 30mm CSC lenses, they figured they could inexpensively slap them onto a compact camera body with the sensor technology they had already developed for the SD1, and price it effectively as a niche camera.

Foveon is an interesting technology that I don't think will go away. In my experience, the colors can sometimes be amazing, and then other times under different lighting be downright strange. The detail the files generate is a combination of outstanding lenses paired with a lot of in-camera corrections and pre-programmed sharpening. I think with stitching and/or aggressive sharpening, you could get close with other modern cameras, but the Sigma method is simpler and faster, no question.

Agreed. I would love fovean to be more mainstream so they could invest more money into improving the technology, but it's going to take a better thought out camera/software.

I want a full frame fovean interchangeable lens mirrorless camera. I would spend lots of money on that!

Any use as tripod mounted camera in indoor dimly lit areas? Not cave type, but old farmhouses and ruins?
Am fine with tripod use but would like to see exposures in low light without city light night stuff.

I shoot a lot in old buildings, tripod mounted and this little camera might be a nice option for higher quality images if it can work well without losing shadow detail.
