Note the piles of cattle dung- which is used for house construction (mud, straw, cow dung)- and yes, I went inside a house and it smelled the way you might expect.
The Masai were warriors until well into the 20th century- when the Kenyan government decided that killing your neighbors was not the key to survival of the aboriginal cultures- so they forced the Masai to become "cattlemen."

This male vervet was leader of a small group of monkeys that were near one of our camps. Until he did his "yawn/threat" I had no idea of the capabilities of those teeth. True, monkeys are not hunters themselves- but any predator that goes after them has to be very cautious and skilled- or be prepared to get injured during the attack.
