p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Spring at Stone Door

It has been an exceptionally wet spring and it had rained all last weekend. Monday there was still some rain with intermittent sun and I was itching to get out and shoot. I drove up the Cumberland Plateau to Stone Door, part of South Cumberland State Park, a place I often go to. I was hoping for some dramatic skies. Sunset wasn't quite what I hoped but I was in for another surprise, a nice rainbow and dramatic skies in the late afternoon. Here are just a few of the many shots I took. Haven't gone through too many of them, just a few. The first is a single exposure. The next two are blends with slightly different framing and processing on each. Not sure which one I prefer on the last 2.

and just a few frames before a little further back, hanging out over the ledge. Processing slightly different and not sure which I prefer.

Hey Jon,

What a nice sight that had to be, those clouds are sure cool. I like the rainbow, but I do wish it was on the right side of the frame instead of so much in the middle. Between #2 and 3, I like the composition of #3 the best, but I like the slightly darker look of the sky in #2.

Thank you, Jim. I may do a crop on #1 to reflect your suggestion. As for 2 and 3, I agree with you and was contemplating the same changes after I posted last night. Going to revisit these and see how they turn out. Thank you for the feedback.
