I stood on top of the cab of my truck to get this one. With the light breeze, I didn't expect precision sharpness as I was trying my best just not to fall off. ;-) f/9.0 at 160 ISO. I processed through Nik Silver. C&C welcome!

This is a '99 planting of Merlot that will end up at a small handful of different wineries.

We own vineyards and sell winegrapes to a number of wineries (mainly in Sonoma and Napa), but we don't make any wine. We keep busy enough farming... making wine is a whole other ballgame.

Are they sold locally, or globally, if you don't mind me asking? I think you should post a larger image over at the HD thread, so we can enjoy every detail of your Merlot family!

Thanks for the kind words... and if I can figure out how to post large, I'll add the image to the thread. I hope I'm not breaking forum rules, but here's a list of who we sell grapes to:

I appreciate the correspondence very much! I will look this list over with a discerning eye, and see if any names ring a bell, or I will look at my saved empties to compare, and if I haven't had any on the list, I will try to see if I can find one that may include varietal from your families awesome vineyard! I have added your facebook to my likes as well! I greatly appreciate the tour offer, it sounds like it would be awesome, and if, and when I could attend, I would make sure my wife, and I would enjoy every second of it! I think if you did the same thing with this post, only choose the O for original on smugmug, it should add the larger file? I dont use smugmug, I use Flickr, but I assume it may work in the same sense? Good luck, and thanks again for sharing these!

Mike, you killin' me

Love the vineyard shots. On many a bike ride through many miles traveled through the vineyards along Dutcher Creeek & in the Anderson Valley am always "visualizing" shot opportunities. Of course we also have thought about stopping and doing some wine tasting too. Lets see, cycling, wine tasting, photography. I think that covers it!
