This is very pretty. I love that red building and it's reflection in the water.

Hi Fjellfalck,

This is a pretty nice looking shot, though I really wish there were some boats out on the shore perhaps. That one touch would make this shot special.

Yes it would be really nice to have a viking ship in front of the boathouse. .

However, they are a little bit too large for the little house.

They were built to cross the ocean 1200-1000 years ago with many vikings, swords, lots of food and water for many days in open sea. And they returned home to Norway with silver, gold, salt, spices and other goods.

The boats they were using 100 years ago, were built on the same old boat tradition bringing goods and fish along the coast of Norway. Most of them were smaller like this one (picture taken two years ago - near Oslo).

Lovely colours. Personally, I would have preferred to see some depth in the building. As it is, we can only see the facade. Perhaps if you had moved a little to the left or right?

Thanks for your good comments. Yes I agree with you. But...... moving to the left was not possible without swimming.

Another factor was the composition. Moving to the left would have changed the composition and the curve starting out in the low right corner towards the mid left part - ending out with the lines of landscape on the other side of the fjord.

Moving to the right would have taken away the mirror of the boathouse in the water and changed the balance in the picture.

And.... moving the boathouse was not an option either! :
