I have to say I'm falling in love with this old lens. I wan't sure if I was going to keep it but the more I use it, the more I love it!

Manual focus is quite enjoyable. What helped me is practicing. Once you do it enough you don't really think too much about the focusing. Your fingers+brain just do it for you instinctively.

I pretty much have to go the manual focus route if I want, fast, pro quality glass. I just don't have the funds, as a hobbyist, to spend $1,600 on the new DC version(although I wish I did!).

My next lens I'm saving for is an old Nikkor 200mm f2 ais. Although it will set me back $1,600-$2,000 it will be a whole lot less than near $6k for the newest variant. Same goes with the other super telephoto lens I want.

My manual focus wish list:

20mm f2.8 ais
50mm f1.2 ais
200mm f2 ais
300mm f4.5 IF ED ais or 300mm f2.8 ais
400mm f3.5 ais or 400mm f2.8 ais
500mm f4 P
