Here's a shot taken a few weeks back. I feel i was very fortunate to have gotten this sunrise. I was heading somewhere else and as luck would have I got this instead Sometimes it pays to sleep in
This is a 3 shot blend. 2 shots taken at F11 Iso 1600 to freeze and get DOF for flowers. 3rd F11 Iso 100 for the sky.

Wow!!! What a super cool shot. You nailed it. Smart work with your shooting and not being afraid to push it by shooting it at ISO 1600 to freeze the flowers and to allow you to get DOF.
My only question is how long will it take me to drive from California to get to this location??
Thanks Jim I feel on the Canon 5DM2 iso 1600 really isn't that bad at long as you expose to the right properly. It does however suck in the shadows if under exposed. Good Camera but think I might be going back to Nikon in the future
As far as miles I think you said you lived in Irvine your looking at 1000 miles You should jog it. It would be a nice little run

Only saw a couple ticks this year. I did stop by REI and picked up this stuff called Jungle Juice haven't seen one since I've used it Only been tested 2 times I'll let you know how it turns out. It was highly recommended by the staff there.
Thanks everyone! I really appreciate the kind words. Although its not perfect it was a beautiful sunrise. I really lucked out by being the only one here this morning couldn't believe it. I went last Sat. or Sun. There were at least 50 people there including workshops it was like Disneyland with ticks
Thanks Richard. Rowena Crest in the Eastern Columbia River Gorge, Oregon. Easy to get to, no real hike. Just watch out for the ticks and poison oak, seen both never had any problems. Good luck have fun
