Heres a little collection of seascapes I've shot over the last week or so. Hope you like them,

I'm doing a series of seascape workshops in Christchurch that are proving quite popular so hopefully I'm doing something right....

Shag rock here was almost destroyed by the February 6.3 earthquake, now 1/3rd its old size. Still good at high tide for the odd shot. Already sold a print of this (on Canson paper will look quite nice).

Outstanding series, with #1 my pick. I was in Christchurch about 20 years ago and loved it. I hope it is recovering nicely from the earthquake.

Amazing series, and my only nitpick is in the first image. There are about 5 lights on the hillside that are a little distracting. With that being said, I love #1!

Hey Rob,

#1 and 4 are my favorites here. Nice work on the bunch of them. I like the look of these, in #2 to 4 though for my own personal taste I would bring down the exposure in the sky just a tad bit more.

That's great to hear that your sea workshops are doing well, I am sure you have a wealth of experience to share with participants.

Beautiful work here. I really like #2. The composition there is just fantastic.

Rob,
I like the water action you've captured in all of these. My favorites are #1 and #4. I think a square crop of #2 removing some trees on the left would improve it. The little nub of land along the left side in #3 is slightly distracting but the water wrapping around the pylons is very nice (so is the light).

Thanks Jim, I get what you are saying with 2/4 , I was trying for a less dark and moody atmosphere than my usual shots! The workshops are great fun, 2 more booked up , little time for shooting myself on those days though!

Thanks Aaron, I may try the square crop but I think you would loose the effect of the sweeping water into the background?

I really like the composition and action in #2. I think it could be better served with the sky darkened a little more but overall it looks great. Good job!
