As I promised to Charlie when I saw his posting, https://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/1199032/0?keyword=yosemite#11432761, I made a special visit to the Mariposa Grove to see this 'very, very tall, old and big' tree.

In fact I started driving at 3 am to take a friend to the Fresno airport for the flight at 7 am on that day. It was most tiring day for me to stop over at the Mariposa Grove, but I made every effort to see this Grizzly Giant on the way back to Yosemite.

Yes, these sequoia trees are really awesome. However the legacy of Galen Clark was most impressive.

Here I am presenting a few pictures from Mariposa Grove in addition to the titled photo of Grizzly Giant Foot.

Enjoy!

Kee

Good job on these. It's very difficult to show the magnificence of these trees in a photo.

Here is the whole tree shot. Shot at 24 mm. Perhaps I should have used a little bit wider lens.

The first one is a case where you really need a person in the photo to illustrate the scale of what it is you are looking at. Someone with their back to the camera and looking up so it isn't portraiture.

The tree's in person are amazing. For something like this, in the photo you really need to have something to reference. The last photo shows the fence, so you get an idea how big it is.

Hello rsk7, Thanks for the comment. I will check my stock and see what I find.

Ah, here is what I found from my stock photos.

How big.. can be shown wrt some person or something next to it.

But how about "how old" ?
