I've been out and about this spring in the Canadian Rockies, climbing various peaks. The weather hasn't been perfect but we did have some nice days so far. Obviously these are not 'formal' landscapes shot in premium lighting but I know that some of you enjoy the mountaineering aspect so these are for you!

Vern, You get to climb some awsome mountians these are all really neat to see. South ridge at Mt. Wilson looks like it could be a crazy avalanche just waiting to happen. The decent shot with the people really scales this wonderfully. Regards,

Hey Vern,

You have some cool shots here, #3 and 4 are my favorites of the group. The pano shot is pretty nice, but maybe pull back on the highlights just a hair?

I always enjoy viewing your photos Vern. #3 looks downright scary with all the snow and ice at such a precarious angle.

Thanks Jim (and everyone else who commented) - I will try pulling back the highlights just a bit on that one. Nothing is blown out, but I understand that the snow is overwhelmingly bright - which is how the scene was on that particular day (without sunglasses you'd go snow blind) but maybe too bright on photos.

Thanks Ben, as with most Rockies glaciers, this one's retreating pretty fast. The remnant on the south ridge is basically just a huge hanging chunk of ice waiting to fall off. Hopefully nobody is under it at the time...
