Unkempt? 
I know, guys now have wild and uncombed hair, and permanent 10-day's growth of facial hair as a style thing.
In my day, women would not stand for being rubbed raw when affection was involved  . Either shave daily or grow a beard- that was our choice  .
About the photograph, Bob: The positioning of the subject plus him looking to our right really works.
Greg's a good-looking dude (is that the right term? ), with a great smile.
