All: D200 + 80-400 VR + 1.4x TC @ 560mm, ISO 800, 1/320, f8, fill flash (SB910 + Better Beamer)

I photographed these oyster catchers as they did there mating dance on a warm March afternoon at Nickerson Beach, Long Beach Island, New York. It was 39f out and this felt great as our weather was warming and the snow melted on contact soaking me and my equipment. It was very relaxing alone on the which is what I needed after taking medical tests earlier in the day. I’m happy to say the tests said I’m normal, though some might question that.

39! I'd kill for the warmth of 39. I exaggerate, but it has been a long and cold and snowy winter up here. But it's a dry cold, unlike what you have to deal with on the coast Morris. Fun set by the way!

Nice shots Morris. One of these days I will have to get back out to LI. Spent many summers with cousins in Long Beach at the beach.

Very nice set, Morris.

Not to rub it in but we've already had a few 80 degree days. Although a front came through yesterday. Today it's cloudy, windy and cool. Temps in the upper 40's.

A fun set (and story), Morris. The absence of a horizontal line in #6 adds to the feeling of instability (for the viewer, the photographer, and maybe even the bird).
