Thanks, Gene. I know the pair of them killed a high number of songbirds while they were in the area. They also killed lots of dragonflies on-the-wing, which shows how good their eyesight and timing is.

Tony:
Well done. I think you did the right thing by taking your shot on the ground as I have a real difficult time shooting them as a BIF because they are like a bullet with quick reflexes. Have lots of Merlin oofs. Since I have Gyrfalcon, Peregrine and Merlin in my area I use size and that band in the tail feathers for ID. Was told the Merlin prefers trees which we don't have and they were probably migrating.
