Last fall my husband and I spent a couple of days in the Moab area visiting Arches National Park and Dead Horse Point before heading into Colorado. We had the best luck with photos the first day before wind and clouds started rolling in the next morning. That first night we successfully completed our first star time lapse! On the second day we fought the wind hiking out to Double O Arch. It was cloudy with sand blowing everywhere, not a great day for a classic Double O Arch photo but a good hike nonetheless. Below are a few images from our Moab visit. A compilation of our time lapses from the trip can be seen at " target="_blank" rel="nofollow">. Thanks for looking!

Stars over Balanced Rock - My husband painted Balanced Rock with a CN-126 LED light. I took maybe 5-7 shots. This one turned out the best with the most favorable lighting on Balanced Rock. It's so nice being out in Arches National Park after dark. We saw two people during the 3 hours we were out in the dark: one at the Windows area and 1 leaving Balanced Rock as we arrived. I love not worrying about people in my landscape shots!

Dead Horse Point Sunrise - It was VERY cloudy when we arrived at Dead Horse Point about 40 minutes before sunrise. We stayed until about an hour after the sun rose hoping to get a peak of sun on the rocks below. No such luck. The clouds, however, were dramatic and made for a great sky!
