Canon 5D Mark III price seems to have gone up despite the rebate. Another game of raise the price and pretend there's a rebate. It was $3,199 the last time I checked. Now, it's $3,299. :-(

6d and 24-105 at B&H before rebate $2399. After rebate the price briefly dropped to $2199 on sunday morning by sunday night was back to $2399.
That's what I saw too. I was about to pull the trigger for the $2199 deal but decided to wait until Monday morning, then it went back up to $2399. Oh well, I will wait.
It is so fustrating to be watching the price and waiting for a dip, and then have the "Rebate" take the prices up. I have been watching the 5D3 body only and the 5D3 with the 24-105, and both of those went up by $150 to $200 when the rebate was "included". There are times when you wonder if you should continue being a loyal user of Canon cameras, which I have been for over 40 years.
What was the price for TS-Es before the rebate? Now they are $2300, $2000, $1300, $1220 (wide to long, rounded to $10, price from Canon flyer before any forbidden-to-advertise discounts).
We have plenty of hardware evidence that Canon has been employing the finest product development and engineering manpower.
However, Canon USA/Canada highly priced distribution and sales staff seem to care little about the good will towards Canon which is felt by their best customers.
The fake rebates is one example where Canon and their retailers practice systematic erosion of such good will.
I bought 2 canon 600exrt speedlites from B&H at the end of March and i called in and they gave me a credit of $55/ea!! I'll be picking up another one with all the money I saved...
Marketing 101. People love to think they are getting a deal. That's the same reason why JCPenny's failed miserably with its new strategy to offer lower prices all the time but no sales.
Is it manipulative? Sure. But they wouldn't keep doing it if it didn't actually work.
