Long time lurker here. I have been viewing in awe all the outstanding pictures posted here. I have come back to photography after a looooonng absence. Going digital after using film creates a steep learning curve. I've decided to try to get past my intimidation and show these. I have a lot to learn and I need you guys to chime in on what I can do better. Everything - post processing, sharpening, workflow for print and workflow for web, I need to learn and know it all. Appreciate your input.

Jim

#3 looks great - good composition and good processing. #4 seems too saturated on my monitor. What are you using to process?

I'm using PS6. But I haven't really settled on a consistent workflow yet and I may have done that one differently.

Stan - thanks. It was our first time there. I can see why it is a favorite of yours. Colors were very vivid.

Hi Jim.
I'm a long-time film user, and definitely NOT an expert on the processing thing.
That said- I figure a variety of feedback can't hurt .
To me, none of these looks too saturated.
Admittedly, I'm most interested in what cameras are pointed at- and I like what you've pointed your camera at here.
#1 especially. An excellent and creative image.
The processing looks fine on all these. My guess is that any changes you make should be slowly evolutionary- and based on your growing understanding of what YOU want.
Get tips and suggestions from many- and then apply them (or not) in ways that suit you.
You are- of course- the ultimate critic of your own work .

Thanks Charlie! I almost walked by the first one without a moments pause. But then I noticed the lines caused by the water flow and became fascinated with them. My effort was really to see if I could capture them.
