These were spotted along the Alcan highway near Ashcroft, BC.
This collection of houses are probably 1917/1920 vintage according to my friend & probably haven't been taken care of for at least 10 years.
They are almost identical in layout & style and grouped with a carriage house. Was this a collection of families, perhaps brothers returned from WWI, or a commune ??
I tried to capture something about each one that told a story.
This first one was the only one with a picket fence which somehow conveys it's tidiness. Perhaps to keep the local farm animals out of the garden ?

This one had the appearance of being recalled by the elements. Falling into decay like the tree that once stood in front.

The tree swing suggests this once had children playing. You can almost here them
