Hi there,

This is the first time I am posting in the People's section. And my first attempt to capture a profile with one soft box positioned in such a way that only a sliver of light falls on the subject.

I can't decide which one works best. Shot with D600 at 1/200 f/3.5 ISO 200.

Howdy!

Quick Comments:

I prefer images 1 and 2.

Image 3 makes the nose look black.

I would prefer to see a bit more contrast with the highlights lighter.

My Suggestion: Do an adjustment to lighten the highlights and post that variation too.

P.S. Make sure you are using a calibrated monitor at all times.

I like 2 but prefer the shirt in 3.

I would drag 2 over 3 then erase the shirt out of 2.

I would use a soft dodge on the left of his face (Camera right) then fade till its right. as is that side of the face needs to come up a little.

I think there's too much of a shadow on the side of his nose. The shadow is protruding under his eye. He needs to turn more into the light to help/fix this.
