Charlie:
Maybe headwaters is just a local term but since we have no other identity to relate to other than GPS data people often refer to a location at the beginning of a river as the headwaters. We are also referred to as the second rapids as the first rapids also known as Ugashik Narrows is small section of fast water between Upper and Lower Ugashik Lakes.
