Hello,
Looking for some help on locating the Milky Way ASAP. I am on a quick trip to St. John in the US Virgin Islands. I have the gear I need for night shooting and I'm hoping someone can pull up an app that will tell me where and when the Milky Way will be visible. Dates 4/4 to 4/7. Hoping you can tell me when it rises and sets. I am assuming it should be visible ths time of the year down here. The moon phase appears to be favorable. Thank you in advance for your help.

We are in the Milky Way. I assume what you are looking for is the center of the galaxy. It is the intensely bright blob of stars that we often see in night photos. The center of the galaxy is located between the tail of Scorpios and the constellation Sagittarius. It is down now in the northern hemisphere but may rise in the wee hours depending on latitude. I hope this is of some help.
