when the new update is complete how should the firmware version read ?
mine is A-1.05 B-1.03 C-1.004
I have a friend that has 2 D4s
one reads like this - A-1.05 B-1.03 L-1006
And his other D4 reads like this A-1.05 B-1.03 L-1.004
after the update, why is that?

L is whatever lens is attached to the camera. S is for your speedlight, if you happen to have one attached when you check firmware. Just worry about the A B for camera.

Just curious if I'm completely missing an application/utility of my D4 in the studio, with all this talk of LiveView in the studio. I only use it for macro shots for photography. Am I missing some usefulness of LiveView in the studio? Hope I don't hijack the thread, just curious.

I have the D800 and the D800E, The live view feature is top notch! Thanks Nikon! Now I can better focus my lenses on the faint stars with much better ease before taking astrophotos. So far I am very happy with the results. Can't wait to get out and really shoot something....
You guys/gals keep posting about your comparisons and your findings.

I upgraded yesterday. I don't know if my mind was playing tricks on me with the green tint being gone on the LCD. I haven't had time to do a side by side with my d7000. Has anyone else confirmed the green tint is gone by using another camera?
