The resident white tailed kite that hunts the meadow where we are staying started its dive above the tree level and then down towards the high grass with the much darker background framing the descent . I was able to track it as it dove and ended up with a surreal image. I do wish it had been facing me but this is the result with only a little sharpening and exposure tweeking. Comments are appreciated...this is one of those images that needs an outside opinion as it easily grew on me.

I love the mysterious look of this image. If the victom were visible this would be over the top. As is the mood makes this image.

Great tracking, Eric. I agreed with Morris. This photo has some mysterious thing hidden in the tall grass that WTK was diving for

I think I'm missing some levels of luminosity on my laptop monitor. This one is really dark for me Eric. I can see the possibilities though.

The underexposure makes the image almost look like an old painting.
It sure is different and very dramatic. Well done, Eric.

I like this Eric. The dark tones work really well . Like how the light is illuminating the tail feathers and talons.

This works for me, Eric. A very compelling and unique image. Yes, if the kite was coming toward you, it's a homerun - but as is, it's still a beauty.
