2 of my favorite shots from a recent family dinner out.

My mom pulling a priceless expression in reaction to the fire... wish i could see the chef's face in this one... he was laughing at her... he was a fun guy.



Staring down the flames... Which crop works the best Square or 8x10 ratio?

I would say go with the square.

Great catch, the flames are leaning the same direction as your Mom!

I prefer the square crop for the second

I prefer the 8x10 for the balance it imparts to my eye.

I also prefer the 8x10 version as it removes the people on the right which add nothing to the impact of the image. Nice capture.
