Hi Jim,
I pretty much agree with you. The bridge was recommended to me as a good sunrise location. I was there well before dawn (with quite a few Chinese photographers) and really liked both the colors and the stillness of the water. I didn't care for the boats on both sides of the river (although the fisherman on the small bamboo boat is kind of nice). Eventually I moved to a spot I found last year, hoping to get a more natural look. The best color had already left and a few boats had already come by to stir up the water. #2 was taken from that spot and the boat was headed straight for the shoreline on the right so this was the only shot I got of it.
