During the Pushkar Camel Fair I spent a morning walking with 100+ Sadhus (holy men) to their ashram outside of town. Very nice people who enjoyed having their pictures taken so much it became a little competitive
I like that it's a bit mysterious, and I wonder if your description about it takes away from that. I keep thinking that it would be more interesting if I didn't know the context. Just a thought...
