These are all great! The kids really connect with you.
Where do you go? What kind of mission? I went on a mission trip to a mountain village outside Esteli. We spent a week building a pig pen and bean arbors. That was back in 2002, I took both my newly acquired Canon G2, my first digital camera, and one of my Canon FTb's to shoot film.
Thanks dmacmillan, nice shot by the way
As for the mission trip we go to a small village called El Limonal just outside of Chinandega, Nicaragua. The community was basically a refugee camp for survivors of Mud slides caused by Hurricane Mitch in 1998.
We have been going there for the past 7 years and done a variety of projects. We are currently working on classrooms for the local school which used to be held under a poll barn. One big pavilion for all 6 grades and 3 teachers. It was chaos! there are now 4 school rooms and this year we worked on a (First in the community) actual flushing bathrooms for the school.
Of course the physical work is just a small part of the trips. We've built some strong relationships with the community over the years and strive to communicate the Love of Christ with them in all we do.
