When the D4x comes out,or something like that,Nikon will have to beef up some of it's lenses.
I would like to see a Nikkor 24 PCE MkII, a Nikkor 35 PCE (please Nikon) and a really good 17 PCE .
They need to be as good as the Canons or better.
Currently I'm hanging to on my D3x as I prefer it to the D800.
I just love the D3x fits in my hand and it's much smaller than a D800 + powergrip.
The rumor mill seems to think later this year with a revised 36Mp sensor. I like my D800 bodies, but I'd really like to go back to the pro body with that kind of sensor. Ahh, I miss my D3x!
come on, the D800 was designed by the mob for the mob. Nikon gave them pretty much what they wanted in an economy package at the right price. they did deliver the goods with an excellent imager.

Like I said in another post. If they bring out a D400 then a D4X is certain because the justifications are the same.
I also speculate the D400 is going to be a big bodied DX camera ala D2 if the rumors about the 7DII are to be believed.
Canon and Nikon like to keep things semi-even when they announce cameras.
But back to the D4X.
I cannot see having a sensor with more than 36MP. WHY do you need more? I know Nikon wants to push into MF territory and while it may be cheaper that is soooo much data to push for the minimal amount of people who would be able to afford it. 56MP is going to make the D4s or the D3Xs original price look bargain bin.
I think the D4X will be revamped 36MP and hoping with the bigger body, an Ethernet port, higher FPS, USB 3.0 and dual XQD cards.
I've decided to wait until Nikon finally gets it s**t together and comes out with the D8X before I take another pic. How can we be expected to take good photographs with the junk they're palming off on us now ?
