Thanks guys. Chris, I doubt I would print this, but WHCC (White House Custom Color) does a printing technique on Aluminum plate with a gaterboard backing that is simply stunning. And no frame required! Almost every size is available, but I've had a few printed that way including a couple red tulips on a black background on 10 x 20 plates and they are simply unrivaled by framed prints! A 10 x 20 with backing is about $45, so it's not much more than a nice matted frame......

Thanks for the pointer, Greg. Sounds like a great idea.
Next time I'm going to print large I will consider this option although my dear lady likes canvas prints.

Looks great Greg. Does it need a bit more space at the top? I'm probably wrong but I see it with a space above to match the space between the lower tip and the bottom of the frame. (Must be the engineer in me )
Just getting back from a work trip and got to see the new version Greg. Now that I can see it, I would have to say that you had it right the first time. Dougo is correct about the balance I think but it's a funny thing. I'm looking at both images on my 27" monitor and the first version my eye tends to follow the stem from left to right, it's very dynamic. In the second, balanced version, the flower presents itself all at once. I prefer your original now. Go figure. Nice work on both of them.
Thanks Ray and Mike. I agree about it being better balanced in the second, and it may have lost some flow due to the fact that I didn't re-crop it, I lazily added a black border just for the comparison, so perhaps with a little less room on the right and left, it might gain back the flow. I appreciate the ideas and suggestions because I never really know if something works until I come here and get this kind of feedback!
