Hi Conrad, I came in for another look.
Just wondering, the first step I do is to switch on the lens profile correction.
Not a big change for long lenses but it does a great job with more "normal" and wide angle glass.
As Socrate mentioned there are many ways to get to the same point.
I like the high pass filter for sharpening. To avoid color problems I simply change the grey mask to B&W.
Keep on the good work.
Chris

Conrad,

Thanks very much for your time putting this together. This is really valuable for someone like me who is still on a learning curve related to post processing.

Conrad,
Thank you for taking the time to share your work flow with so many people. I can't wait to try this some of my photos as I have concentrated on taking the photos, now need to sit by the computer to make them pop. You have no idea how much help your tutorial is to me and how nice it is to finally understand LR and PS a lot more.
Thank you!
Heidi

Conrad - I had been thinking about PMing you to ask about this again as I couldn't seem to locate your original tutorial. THANK YOU!!!! And a PDF, too. You are quite generous.

I read this tutorial on Flickr - very helpful. doing the selective sharpening (smart sharpening to lightness only step) has made my images sharper in a very clean way - - I love it. I just edited a few like that. I might have to post a couple using this technique.

It's sure too bad you can't create PS actions in LR, I love that in PS but sort of similar to this tutorial I prefer to use LR for a lot of my PP, so being able to create actions could speed my process, but oh well.

Using the Luminosity option on the Unsharp mask is doesn't actually seem that much quicker to me than the LAB color method

BTW
If you really want RAWs to edit, I've got plenty

Great information!! It's nice to see the different workflows and post-processing techniques that others (ie. The Experts) use to squeeze all the quality out of their shots.

Thanks for taking the time to share this. This is super helpful for beginners like us.

Thank you Conrad. I need all the help available.
Spring will be here soon and you will be scrambling hillsides once again and in need of a worn shutter replacement.

Simply brilliant, Conrad! Thanks so much for sharing this. Its refreshing to see talented photographers willing to share their work flow so that others can learn. Me? Pinky and I will now be able to take over the world!
