I would be more interessted in the Helios 50/1.2 lens they showed me on Phtokina fair 2012. I suppose a much better build quality than a Samyang lens.
I think the built quality of their 35/1.4 is rather nice, much better than the 85/1.4.

I saw such a prototype lens on the Photokina in the cabinet. I asked to see it, and got a closer look on it.
From what I find it seems I was (nearly) the only one who was interested in that lens.
Need to upload the few images I made.

Any idea what design this would be based on?
Biotar?
Sorry, I thought there would be some blogger or print media writer to cover this lens with all technical detail, so I didnīt even ask for more information like design type or lens elements / groups.
I loved this lens because of its classic design too, but as far as I remember they told me it would be changed to more modern in case they start production :-/
Bummer, not everyone is wanting modern.
I'm still wanting the old version of the Helios 40 just for it's character.
They are still high priced.
I thought the re-introduced new versions of the 40-2 would have driven down the prices, but they have not.

Yes, I love these old fashioned lens barrels without plastic much more than for example these Samyang lenses with all the plastic. I have enough black lenses, lenses with rubber focus rings and such.

Hmmm, never heard about that Zenitar, wish there was more info. ...
Itīs a prototype, I suppose they are unsure if they should produce it or not.
Likely because of this it was in the cabinet and not in a more prominent place.
Cause I work as optics expert at a machine vision camera manufacturer I looked closely at their cabinet, cause probably I could find something interesting for my job too.
And there was this very fast looking lens...
