Here's my latest idea, luan with 1x3 frame but a block in the top center beam made from a 2x4 and drilled from the bottom with 7/16" hole.
I will use an avenger baby offset arm on top of a light stand to keep the wall up and sandbags at the bottom.

Not sure that will meet your requirement that a person be able to lean on it, but it sounds like it will have good portability.

I think if the stand is sandbagged and the bottom of the wall is sandbagged it may be able to take a little bit of weight.
