My first digital SLR was a Nikon 40D w/ kit lens. I upgraded to the D80 within 3-4 months, but sometimes I'd like to go back and snag another one of those for reigning in bright sunlight. The shutter in the 40D is a hybrid and is electronic above a certain shutter speed, meaning you can flash sync all the way to its highest shutter speed. The 40D might be a garbage camera in all other areas except for making night into day, in that area is shines.

post a picture from your first dslr and experience the thrill again.
Great idea! And a lot of excellent and interesting shots in the thread!
My first real camera was the Canon 300D, so I had a lot to learn.
I had the fortune for getting a used Magic Drainpipe fairly quickly after getting the D300, and then the fun really started. This was the first shot, I was really happy about, and I kinda still like it to this day. I was shooting in raw from the very start.
Great Thread Grant... I'll have to look up a couple Rebel images when I get home.
I did/do not see any of the mentioned restrictions in the picture.
But thank you for the advice. I changed the embedded pic to a link.

Ralph... I just looked at this thread (from work as well). Over in People Forum, nudes are not only linked, but also identified as such. Please help everyone out and do that.
My first DSLR is the one I currently own. Before that I had my Canon Rebel Ti. Purchased in 2003.
My first car bought with the money I saved working fast food in high school:
A self portrait (self timer balanced on the railing of the bench). Shortly after this was taken I gave the camera to my brother and upgraded to a DSLR
The first DSLR I used for a college photojournalism project (It was a canon but at the time I didn't pay attention to the model). Taken at a local beauty salon. The lady was reading the magazine and I noticed that advertisement on the back. I'll admit I posed her a bit by asking if she'd flip the magazine over (2005).

I did it drbob. Funny thing that many here seem to visit FM while they are "working".
As far I know employees here in germany can lose their jobs if doing so not job related.

I think that depends on the company more than the country Ralph.
