On our way out from Death Valley, we stopped by some petroglyphs, and Red Rock Canyon(California version). The ranger that pointed us in the direction of the petroglyphs thought we were trustworthy, and I thank her for that. The sign at the site asking us not to deface it further has even more meaning now.

I always wanted to stop and take a look at Red Rock Canyon, but we were never there during the good light. It was nice to take a break from driving and take a jaunt around the trail. C&C welcome and very much appreciated!

Nice shots, pretty awesome that this stuff has survived as long as it has. I hope they protect these artifacts so some idiot doesn't chisel them out of the walls for fun and profit. Once again, nice shots.

Thanks for the comment Don! If you didn't hear, some brazen thieves did exactly what you described to a number of petroglyphs around eastern California recently. Here's hoping the remaining glyphs are around for generations to come.

Hey Tim,

You got some pretty cool shots here, I like #2 the most. The petroglyphs are neat looking in #3, but the horizon looks off, or his the land sloping up there?

Thanks for the comment as always Jim! The land is indeed sloping up to the right. I played around with "leveling" it, but it made the glyph rock look strange to me.
