There are many magnificent vistas in Zion, but sometimes the humble grass and weeds give us opportunities to make some nice images. Here is one that I like. I feel the way the DOF worked, it gives a 3D feel to the image. It is the humble grass acting as a back drop to the iconic peaks of Zion.
As usual, your comments and criticism are always welcome.
Nice job with DOF, it gives an interesting look both to the shrub and the background rocks. The shrub looks to be Rabbit brush which produces a late season yellow flower in late summer and fall.
I'm so sorry that you have had 229 views and only 5 comments. I think this is an amazing picture! I love the perspective and I think the back ground is just the right amount of blur!
Thank you for sharing!
AMaji,
An interesting approach, and you did it well.
Strictly a subjective thing, but I'm undecided if I like it as done here.
I think I'm a bit thrown off by the richness of the background reds.
Just $.02 .

Charlie, I will take your suggestion and see if I pull the reds down... how it will look like.
Lee, it is the lowly 28-300VR on my D300. No doubt the bokeh is jittery.
Scraptag, thanks for the comments. It is okay about the number of comments. Many people just view and that is a good thing by itself Of course, it is better to have more comments.
Callisto, thank you for identifying the plant. It must be Rabbit Brush because it was in Fall.
