Michael Tran has shown me this post on do-it-yourself (probably) AF re-calibration of EF 50mm f/1.0 lens, however, I do not quite understand what was that they did.
The post shows pictures of AF calibration jumper pads, but I'd really need the translation in order to follow the pictures. Has anyone got that post translated into English ?

EXIF of the pics shows they were shooting with a 1Ds II, so no MA on that body. Perhaps that's why they went through the trouble?
Yes, that's a good thought. I mean recalibrating 50 f/1.0 AF is not that difficult, any decent camera repair shop should be able to do it, or even lens owners who are good with a fine tipped soldering iron. However, I am not sure if that's what they did.
Peter, i believe he had increased 1/4 dof to offset his 50L default front focus by connecting AF-ADJ0, 1, 4 and ADJ2, 3, 5 as instructed by the manual service. This is the best way to calibrate without lens elements adjustment.

Tried translating the page with IE, FireFox and Chrome; all languages that I can load have been for the translator...no luck, sorry.
+1, no luck here as well, Jerry

Yeah, even tried being tricky, tried using a few code editors, the html translates great as expected, but the text is unreadable binary too much time of my hands...
Very funny when i see this quote "Fengyun lens blind for 23 years", makes me remembering all the talks of these two 50L1.0 and 50L1.2 lenses. Bottom line, most floating report of their optical issues are not caused by the design but just another calibration problem and that is what i have found out from my two lenses. I've guessed, our imagination is running wild sometime
In that modification thread, the OP basically removed the original soldering and started connecting the points as he saw fit from his previous experience adjusting his 85L MK1 (which shares many similarities in design/components with 50 F1L).
All in all, it showed that the 50L was actually a very well designed lens and can have very good performance wide-open.
My 50L needs +2 with my 5D2. But it's very sharp with that MA adjustment. Sharper than my bud's F1.2 at any aperture up to F4. After that, the F1.2 starts to be a tiny bit sharper. But again, we don't get these super-fast lenses to shoot at F5.6.
