Had a huge love/hate with the original 24-70 2.8 but have a serious LOVE relationship with the MKII version of it Oh, the same goes for the 70-200 2.8 IS MKII, but didn't hate the first one as much as I hated the 24-70

Wow. Maybe you're the one that needs to get out more?
As to the original question, I've had the love/hate thing with "advanced" radio triggers - the only thing that works consistently for me are the "dumb" alienbee triggers
I don't think I've ever loved or hated my camera gear although a few guitars have bridged the gap from cold and lifeless inanimate object to object of emotional attachment and desire, at least when the strings are fresh. When the strings are worn, it is often subject to my indifference but never hate...

What lens do you now or in the past have a Love / Hate relationship with?
50mm 1.4 - often dodgy AF and it breaks and the AF doesn't keep up well for indoor sports, otherwise good (accepting than any standard double gauss 50mm will have halation and such near wide open under some conditions and LoCA)
that is about it, maybe tamron 28-75 when the AF was used for moving subjects and that it was crazy perfect corner to corner on APS-C, but it can get a little odd at the edges in some circumstances on FF (although clearly better there than any 24-105L I tried)
maybe some sigmas that I didn't own but got to use, nice fast f/2.8 lenses (70-200 and 120-300), decent image quality (very good on the 70-200) but the AF could be dodgy
35L for me... love the sharpness with one stop down but can't get out of 1.4 mode... hate this awesome lens.. now looking for another one... f/2 with IS is nice but 35L is a must
