Woke up very early in October to catch the sunrise at the Croton Gorge Dam. It was epic. The sounds were mesmerizing. The mist was absolutely incredible. I didn't think I could get a good shot, though. Just before the sun peaked out I got a break and I snapped away. This is my first submission here and I hope to continue to do so.

Very nice! I don't think you could've timed this any better.
Looking at this on Google Maps... You took this from Croton Dam Road? Were you standing on the road/bridge? I've never been up that way before, but it looks like a great location.
Nice job! I think I took a similar shot there back in 2010, but it was the middle of the day in the summer, so I didn't have the nice light and mist that you caught here.
Another checkmark in the WOW! column, Steady.
This is a delightful image- in all respects.
If it were mine, I'd clone out that #!&%#! jet entrail in the pink cloud. I hate vapor trails as much as I hate human footprints in sand dunes!

Hi Charlie,
I did contemplate taking it out. I rarely clone out in my images and plan to master that in the next year.
Thank you and thank everyone for the great feedback.
Wow! What place is this? It doesn't look real, its so amazing. The shot is great and you've done a very good job. Thank you for sharing such a great catch
