This deal has been going on before Christmas. I already got mine and it came in great condition. Had just a little over 2000 shots. Had some very minor cosmetic blemishes.

They just got a few more bodies in stock. They are also offering the D800E for $2,649 shipped.
Stock is very limited.
Why not just spend an extra $45, and buy a brand new D800E with a full Nikon 2-year warranty?

where exactly are you seeing a brand new d800e for only $45 more than the refurb?
Sorry - my mistake. The $2695 price was for a D800, not the "E" version.
I used Google to look up the D800E price at Aden Camera (where I buy a lot of my Nikon gear) and didn't notice the link it retuned was for a D800 instead of a D8000E. The D800E is currently $2835.

No option to return the cameras to Adorama though if defective.
I prefer the Cameta deal where you can return for refund.
I bought one of the Adorama refurbs before Christmas, it had 4100 shutter actuations and looked 'handled', so I sent it back for a full refund. No questions asked. In fact, it's probably in the current lot they are selling now.

My D700 refurb came from Adorama with all of 6 (six) clicks on the shutter.
My D800 refurb came from Cameta and had 28 (twenty-eight)clicks on the shutter.

Never has a refurb come with less than 350 clicks, I've bought at least 6, how can a body have six clicks and then be sent for refurb...the refurbs come from Nikon through the dealer.

I will never pre order a camera again. The price is just too high. Looks like the Facebook ipo.
Nikon will do what they want, but in the future, why will anyone pay 20% extra for a couple months use when they already have adequate cameras?

My last refurb direct from the Nikon Store...D700 with 56 clicks. You're min. of 350 number is total BS.

Refurbs with clicks that low are typically returns, not repairs. If the camera gets returned outside of its original packaging and such, they can't sell it as new so they refurb it despite not actually having any real use.
