Anyone able to share any wisdom on shooting for newspaper color print? I haven't shot for a newspaper since the film days and all I did then was passed the rolls in so I have no idea of what kind of processing will look best in low quality print.
I'm going to shoot in RAW and delivering TIF in sRGB and I guess they will be assigning their own color profile for print from there. Their current printing shows colors being somewhat muted and as expected contrast & detail are lacking.
So any advice? .. I'll be shooting people mostly outdoors but also some studio.
Thanks!
Any newspaper I've submitted work to has always supplied me a colour profile and which is more common these days, they have a link in their relative FTP thingo to download and embed profiles before submitting.
I've been limited to file sizes with the press I've worked with so I couldn't supply a tiff even if I wanted to, they mostly want EPS or PDFs, go figure????
I assume you have asked the paper what they want??
