Beautiful scene. Very well composed.
Love the light.
Thanks for sharing!
Fred
I very much agree.
This image with the good composition and perfect lighting bears a powerful message:
The dark foreground(which could be further darkenned) depicts what faced the Man on the cross - the darkness and depravity of man's sin that Jesus had to bear.
The lit-up church depicts the enlightenned Church which is the result of the work on the cross.

I don't know, Harry. What sensitivities are you referring to? Generally, religion in photography is controversial with many people, but I don't see that in this thread.
The only thing that bothers me about this image is a nagging feeling that it's tilted very, very slightly to the left. The walls of the church and the cross don't seem to be vertical. 'Course I could be wrong... but that's how it looks to me. Maybe I just can't see straight any more.
Other than that, I love the image. A beautifully told story (worth telling!), with great light, composition, and execution.
Love it !
My wife and I take pictures of churches, cemetery's, tomb stones and cross's all the time. Alot of old and really neat craftsmanship you don't see now a days as well.
.
Keep shootin.
