It's getting better! All of the body clears the C/Y Macro Bellows, with just a $20 Fotodiox C/Y-EOS adaptor. Fits together like they were made for each other. If you've ever tried this combo with a 1D series or xxD series camera you would know why I'm so giddy. Full frame, alt macro party time!
Handled D600 at bestbuy. handle is way small and plastic. Why I feel Nikon go down hill for build quality but Canon go up hill. It is getting opposite now compare 5dII and D700 four year ago.
I'm mostly using the OM-D nowadays, but there are times when I want a FF body. I just sold my 5d2 for a 6d. So far I'm really liking the 6d.
AF is quick and accurate. Feels much more responsive than the 5d or the 5d2 (likely due to shorter mirror blackout). Feels better in the hand than any other Canon I've used. Love the on/off switch near the mode dial. Mode dial locks! Auto-ISO lets you set a minimum shutter speed - finally!!
Shutter is quiet and much nicer sounding than 5d/5d2.
I've tested a few Alts including the Zeiss C/Y 28 2.8 which used to hit the mirror at infinity on my 5d2 and I haven't had any mirror strikes yet.
Nice. I've been contemplating the 6D or the D600. I still have my 70-200 f4 IS which is awesome. The 6D is around $1000 more than the D600 here, quite a difference.

Wow, that's a huge difference. I suspect the 6d price will drop some over the next 6 months. I bought mine "used" on the buy/sell here, which saved me a few bucks.
Yes, the D600 is about $2000, and the 6D is around $3000. I'm not getting it at this price, but maybe later. The 70-200 f4 IS is so good it's worth just getting a Canon body to go with it.

There is finally a 70-200/4 VR Nikkor coming out as well, and I guess selling that Canon lens and buying the Nikkor, and buying the cheaper Nikon camera, would come out about the same. Plus sharper photos, more dynamic range, yadda yadda...

Yes, these are the wonderful Norwegian prices.
But then they should be both more expensive, since both are imports form Japan to Norway. Ok, they are some 400EUR apart here in Germany, I really hoped the Canon would drop into D600 regions.

LoL. Yes, it was about time Nikon released this lens. I haven't seen any reviews yet, haven't really read much about it. I was REALLY impressed with the C f4 IS, and it's one of the finest AF lenses I've used. It has such a nice 3D/separation going on, almost Zeiss, and everything about it is stellar. It's really an awesome lens.
I have had mine for a couple of weeks. Its a great tool.
My 24mm/50/85 Rokkor lenses that I was using with an adapter on a NEX-7 have been sent to Jim Buchanan to do a mount swap to Canon EF that way I can use on both cameras (with purchase of EF-to-E adapter for the NEX-7). I have changed out the focus screen to a Eg-S to make manual focus on the 6D easier. Works great.
The camera is awesome. No complaints. I only have Canon 35mm f14L that fits the 6D right now so I wont post pics in the Alt forum but you can see some on my Flickr page.
I was just searching for a matte focus screen for the 6d - Canon only has the standard screen available. The Eg-s is the 5d II matte screen - how does it fit? Any complications?
Thanks!
Has anyone else tried replacing with a matte screen?

Yes, that's the one you want (same as 5DII). If you go into the 6D menu under custom functions, go down to C.Fn III: Operation/ Others and #2 is the list of focus screens available. The stock screen, I believe one with rule-of-thirds grid lines, and the Eg-S for manual focus.
Install was very straight forward with the included instructions from Canon. It took all of 30 seconds and that's with changing the camera setting to recognize the screen. I took about a dozen quick shots in pairs after install. One with manual focus switched 'on' on lens and the second with autofocus 'on'. I have my focus button de-linked from shutter and I use back-button focus with the AF-On button. For each second shot with autofocus on, the lens never made any adjustment to focus from my first manual focus shot. Meaning all my manual shots where spot-on focus. I then downloaded them and double checked them on PC to make sure both sets where in fact focused properly. All is good and I am very happy with the upgrade.
A quick note: The viewfinder will be darker if you use lenses slower than f2.8. This is a mod for those that like to shoot fast primes.
I would love to see more reports on mirror clearance with alt lenses. If you own lenses that you know didn't clear other EOS models and now clear the mirror on the 6d lets hear from you. This would make the 6d an Alt marvel.
