Most 5dIII review I see so far claim not much improvement over 5dII.
Why 6d is a different class? I don't care performance over ISO1600. base ISO to ISO400 is most important to me.
I was thinking high ISO. Would Canon make a new sensor that is worse at low ISO than the older ones? It's possible of course, but not very likely.
He's pretty fun and I love his humor, but his mannerisms drive me nuts. His arms are always flopping and swinging all over the place like Shaggy from Scooby Doo and he spastically presses buttons and uses knobs with horrible sloppiness and terrible accuracy. It's like those infomercials where you see someone comically failing at using the old product as a means of selling the new product, except he does that with everything.

You know, I actually like his reviews. Sure he's a goof ball, but when you listen to him, he actually has some relevant and interesting things to say!
A user in a German forum reported that he got to test his EF-converted Canon FD 55 1.2 Aspherical on the 6D at photokina and that the mirror doesn't hit (in contrast to the 5D II) - so it should be a bit better.
Someone asked about the C/Y 85 1.4 - AFAIK there are no issues with mirror clearance on the 5D, so I would expect it to be fine on the 6D as well.
Mine finally shipped from B&H.
Saturday night (right?) I ordered it with a 50/1.8mkII, with UPS Next Day. Sunday morning, i called and changed my order to the 40/2.8 instead of the happy meal (I currently have NO canon lenses, so i wanted to get SOMETHING EF for it).
The B&H agent who modified my order forgot to release it to the warehouse for processing, so it sat until today when i called them again....
They refunded me half my shipping, got it out, and I'll have it tomorrow.... along with two cheapie Fotodiox adapters from Amazon, and another 16gb UHS-1 card.
I'll be shooting medium jpgs in no time! CSC_0640 by Chris.jpg, on Flickr
(yes that is me)
1) Very nice feel. I am happy here. The rubber on the grip is slightly sticky almost, and the grip has a great contour/size.
2) Light, for a FF, but still very solid.
3) Nice finder! Glad to be back on FF haha.
4) Nice quick mirror blackout.
5) Quiet mode is nice.
6) High ISOs are stupid. Rediculous. 100k looks like 25k did 2 years ago. Handholding pictures outside at f2.8 under moonlight- just unbelievable.
There is quite a bit of customization available in the menus, but honestly the menus and overall UI of the camera is very "consumer"/low-end, coming from the OM-D and Nikon before that (and Canon a long time ago).
I don't like being reminded to mount a lens when going into video mode, when i have a Nikkor adapted on the camera.
I just paired it up to my Nexus 7 (android tablet) and transferred a few pictures over. It appears they transfer at a lower resolution than they were natively shot it. I don't like that. I would like far more features built into the EOS Remote app (or whatever it's called), like automatic sync/backup to phone/tablet.
Uploading two shots to my flickr right now.
Straight JPG out of camera, medium jpg with boost on sharpness and contrast in picture style standard.
Wow- also seems that at some point in the transferring, the exif is lost.
