p.1 #1 · Some Quacks, Swans, a Cat and a Beaver.....(12)
The sun was back out and warm and it tied in with my day off, lucky me for a change!
All the rain filled up the area and brought in the ducks, yippee but I could not get them to fly the way I wanted so you are stuck with some awkward angles that may not work the best but thought it was time to share a few images again
Here is a mix, just good fun and nothing really special but a few that go against the grain of common maybe?
Thanks for looking, comment as you wish, it's all gooooood here!
p.1 #4 · Some Quacks, Swans, a Cat and a Beaver.....(12)
Ah me first, that's a rarity nowadays!
Yes sometimes they just don't fly the way you want them to so I won't comment on what you already know
Fist super techs on these, no blown underwings
5 these guys always seem so cartoonish, I kind of expect them to turn their bills around like Daffy used to do fine details on this buy and lovely hues of brown
6 is a Green Winged Teal my friend so are the dablling Mrs in 7
8 Now a Coot puking scum You did expose this one perfectly, not black, no white bill, super well done. Really that is a technical 10.
Love the symmetry of 10
Hmm 11 to me it's backwards, to my eye it wants to flow to the left Or was there something in the way there ruining that comp?
12 why did he stop there, he was almost done!!! Maybe waiting for the wind to take it down.
Great to see you had a perfect day off Karl, you deserve it Oh yeah, great job my friend!!
p.1 #5 · Some Quacks, Swans, a Cat and a Beaver.....(12)

You have quite the imagination there Karl. The quackers are wonderful and you have indeed produced a wonderful tail of the cat and I will just have to visualize a beaver creating that notch...I have a few beaver shots like that one...and similarlym none with the alleged perpetrator.

Nice set Karl. Glad you got out to shoot something other than gloom. I'm going with the more conventional here - Shoveler and wigeon are my pic picks. Sitting ducks are just pleasant and/or fun to view, even if their beaks are not on backwards.

Good thing you were first so I could fix my ID's on the Wigeon/Teal
You know this must be a youngster Coot as I normally seem them much darker almost to a graphite charcoal color. Thanks on the techs, it is one of those you want to get right in order to make it look half way interesting
Hmm, #11 I see the leaning of this tail and other minor foliage below to put it this way and a slight curling of the tip to place in that upper left corner..........that was my thinking anyhow ?
Thanks Tim for the good stuff and the thoughts and ID!

Karl,
A nice and variety set. All are good but my favorite is #6.
The Peanut Gallery method of identifying birds:
In the air- eagle.
On the water- duck.
