I had the pleasure of doing a shoot with a (very) good Cap'n Jack Sparrow over the weekend here at Cayman Pirate's Week. Here is a small selection. Let me know what you think!
Blutch, all were shot with a D700, 24-70 and 2x SB-900's - one in a softbox on about half-ish power and the other dialled down a ways and shooting through a circular diffuser. Camera settings should be in EXIF. Just wanted to keep it nice and simple.
I see some of Paul's critiques, but to some extent only... overall I really think you've done some nice stuff here. It isn't the softest lighting, so you end up with some hotter spots no question, but to me it almost adds to the grungy look you'd want with a subject like this. I too would like to see more of the BG in the last 3, but at the same time the dark BG does set off the subject more. So I get it, but it also doesn't ruin the set for me. Great model, good poses and keep posting!!
You logo is definitely different and I want to like it, but...it competes with your image and it is the first thing my eye sees. IMO, the logo should identify the photographer or studio, but, not dominate the image.
Other wise you seem to have that David Hill look without the cool backgrounds and support.
