Tres bien!!! Awesome set Eric. Lots of good behavioral information.
Thanks Ken, I was fortunate to have a front row seat to the event....it was pretty one sided though.

Jim, you are too kind...your words are much appreciated...this was just one of those moments that lives on not only in the photographs but in my memory (at least for a few more years I hope!)

Okay, I got a little excited there and posted twice - Leopards do that to me - just never on the internet before. Since I don't know how to delete it...a few additional comments: you nailed the exposure on these, especially the first one. A blown sky and yet the eyes are so clear and sharp, obviously you and the 1DX metered this to perfection. Was this your wife doing running the video? congrats to whomever. This young cat is sure full of confidence.
Jim
The metering was a little tricky up there as you say but thanks to being cajoled into doing manual/spot metering by Tim Kuhn I got the subject right even if the background looks a little wonky. And yes it was my wife who did the video and as great as I think it is she was pissed she didn't get the leopard's dismount from the tree or the lunge...the camera was off for about a minute or so since we couldn't see where the leopard had hidden itself....me I'm thrilled with the footage!

Wow, good stuff. A pleasure to view. I felt like I was there
Thanks Rob...I don't normally get the opportunity to shoot these kind of things with a 70-200mmm so this was quite a thrill.

Thanks so much Mark...yes, it is quite a rush in person and sometimes I have to try to remember to watch with my eyes instead of just through the viewfinder.

A stunning set my friend, this truly is an amazing set. I got nothing but kudus for you! Er I meant kudos Really Eric this is a rocking set!
Tim
Sometimes you just get lucky with subject and light and this was one of those occasions. I ordinarily don't like kill images as they are really not pleasant to view. So I tried, in many of the shots to bring a slightly gentler view that still shows this necessary part of life in the African bush. Death is not easy to watch but these silent kills at least don't seem to suggest the prey has suffered too much before it eventually died.

I'm going to start calling you Ken Burns for your documentary skillz.
My pulse was up just watching your video, can't imagine the rush of witnessing this firsthand.
Excellent work Eric, thanks for letting me experience it.

Kirk, thank you so much for such kind words...truly, they are much appreciated. I will let my wife know you liked her video...we can call her Mrs. Burns...maybe that role playing will spice up our love life
