p.1 #1 · Which lens would you like Sigma to make next?
Sigma over the past 4 years has amazed me. First with the 50 1.4, then the 85 1.4, and now the 35 1.4. So this got me thinking, maybe they are listening to their customers. Maybe (I doubt it) but maybe they even frequent forums and see what people are asking for. So i thought it might be a good idea to do a poll to see what people would want next.

A new 400/5.6. The old one was great and on par with the Canon. Unfortunately only a few are chipped to work on my 5D2. If they could make a new one with OS for under 1500...

There's already 135/2 and 200/2...
How about a 135/1.4 or 1.8 or you wide guys... how about a 24/1.1?
Are we really just going to want the same lenses over and over and over?
There's not as many 135/2 as there are 135/3.5 but I kinda feel it's almost like asking for another 3.5 again. No one wants something a little more unusual? Doesn't a 400/3.5 sound better than yet another 400/5.6 for example?
Maybe I'm just spoiled or something...

I would like some fast E-mount lenses, esp. a 85mm would be great. Did not tried the 19/2.8 yet. OTOH, if I would be using a FF DSLR I would love a good 28mm.

well from what I've seen, Sigma is just taking the most popular primes and recreating them for a cheaper price (minus the Sigma 50). I shoot Nikon, so the 135 is a great lens, however its pretty dated. A 400/3.5 would be nice.

Good point, but I wish for what I need and can pay for. Although a 400/4 OS could also be very nice, but maybe a bit above my budget for a longer telephoto lens.

I think your thoughts are right.
There are a lot of "standard" lenses available - and many interessting lenses missing!
I think for an alternative lens manufacturer it could be helpful to make lenses others donīt care about:
- Lens with apodization element or spherical correction for the Art series?
Ok, there are at the moment not many people that understand the function of such bokeh modification.
This would be a lens with much better bokeh than all normal lenses!
Think about how many people are fascinated when they see Meyer Trioplan images!
- Slow very small prime set - Contemporay series
- Lens with variable object "plane" curvature like the old Minolta VFC 24mm - Art series.
- Wideangle macro lens, for example 21mm focal length - Art series
- Super fast lenses - probably not for pixel peepers. Like the mentioned 135/1.4 for the Sports series.
