Hmm, I wonder how that claim for 411 ft Upper Whitewater stacks up to Amicalola Falls (729 ft.). Perhaps its a matter of how "waterfall" is defined an measured. At any rate, that's a beautiful shot, and the perfect time of year for it.

Hi, Dave. Thanks for commenting.
From the Blue Ridge Heritage Website:
"Upper Whitewater Falls, near Cashiers, North Carolina, drops over 411 feet and is the highest falls east of the Rocky Mountains. Lower Whitewater Falls, located just across the border in South Carolina, drops another 400 feet."
From Wikipedia"
"Whitewater Falls is a series of waterfalls and cascades on the Whitewater River in South Carolina. Over the 2.4 mile (3.9 km) course of the river on the two falls, the Whitewater River drops 1071 ft. (330.5 m.)."
Apparently they are taking into account the total drop in elevation. I'll leave it to the experts to figure it out. Anyway, it is a great site to behold. Thanks, again.

Was this all one exposure or is it a blend or some HDR? Usually the shadows on the lower part of the falls are fairly strong. It looks good though!
Hi, Andy.
Thanks for commenting.
This was the result of 3 shots stiched together. I did use a 3 stop nd grad to handle the light in the upper portion of the image. It allowed me to get bring in more of the lower lit area below. That would account for your appraisal. Hope that helps.

Ah, thanks for the details. Very nice result! I know from being there often enough that the exposure and perspective present some challenges. You handled them well!
